Coffee cup and Saucer, First Period Worcester, soft paste porcelain, c.1757 |
This early Worcester moulded coffee cup and saucer are finely painted in underglaze blue with the Feather Mould Floral pattern. Both pieces are very thinly potted and exquisitely decorated. The borders are particularly finely painted. The grooved handle is painted with a scroll motif. A workman's mark is painted on the reverse of both the cup and the saucer. Condition: Perfect - no damage or restoration at all. Dimensions: Saucer - Diameter 4 1/2" (11.4cm); Coffee cup - Height 2 1/8" (5.4cm) Provenance: The Barbara Leake Collection.
