Painted with an underglaze blue design of a fence and rocks issuing flowers and leaves, this fine Bow coffee cup dates from c.1755. The handle is of a double scroll shape. The painted design blurred slightly during firing, and the glaze has a pale bluish tone. Provenance: The Frank Wheeldon Collection. Condition: Excellent - no chips, cracks, or restoration. This cup would make an attractive addition to any collection of early English porcelain. Dimensions: Height 2 1/4" (5.7cm) |
