Tea Bowl and Saucer, First Period Worcester, soft paste porcelain, c.1770 |
This fine Worcester tea bowl and saucer are printed and painted in bright enamel colours with a version of the Chinese Family, with figures seated and standing beside a table. Both pieces are decorated with a loop and dot border in red and gilt, and there is a flower on the inside base of the tea bowl. Unmarked. Condition: Excellent - no chips, cracks or restoration. The painted, printed, and gilt decoration is in excellent unworn condition on both pieces. Polychrome Worcester, particularly those pieces decorated in the Chinese palette, is particularly popular, and these items would enhance any collection of Eighteenth-Century English porcelain. Dimensions: Saucer - Diameter 5 1/4" (13.3cm); Tea bowl - Diameter 3 1/2" (8.9cm); Height 1 3/4" (4.4cm) |
