Plate, possibly Lambeth, c.1740 |
This delftware plate with its flat, pancake-shaped base was probably produced in Lambeth, London, in around the mid-eighteenth century. The plate is painted with stylised floral decoration in blue, and the soft glaze has a pinkish hue, typical of Lambeth delft. There are three stilt marks on the reverse. Condition: Excellent - no restoration or cracks, just tiny typical rim chips in places, although a good proportion of the edge remains intact. Dimensions: Diameter 9" (22.8cm) |
