Coffee Cup, New Hall, hard paste porcelain, c.1790

 

This elegant coffee cup is decorated in the early gilt pattern 264. The rim is painted with a continuous wavy foliate gilt border between two thin gilt lines. The body is decorated with simple floral sprigs in gilt. The handle is decorated with a simple gilt line.

The pattern is illustrated in Pat Preller's New Hall Pattern Book.

Condition: Two minute nicks to the rim and a Y-shape glaze crack to the base. No other damage or restoration.
