Large Delft Plate, probably Dutch, c.1760 |
This plate is decorated in blue with a chinoiserie landscape and flowers. The edge is painted with stylised trees. The shape resembles Lambeth, however the style of decoration with its finely painted lines and dark blue tones suggests a Dutch origin. Three stilt marks can be seen on the lightly-pitted reverse. The glaze has a bluish tone. Condition: No cracks or restoration, just typical flaking to the rim and minor chips. Dimensions: Diameter 10 1/4" (26cm) |
