Teapot and Cover, stoneware, Wedgwood, c.1817

 

This particular dry body shape with its moulded basketweave design and wheatsheaf finial appears in Wedgwood's 1817 Catalogue. The strainer is of the raised oval variety, and the handle and spout are modelled with antique Greek ornaments.

Marks: 'WEDGWOOD' and an incised line.

Condition: Excellent - no chips, cracks or restoration.

Dimensions: Length (from handle to spout) 6 1/2" (16.5cm); Height (to top of finial) 3" (7.6cm)
