Saucer, Staffordshire, bone china, c.1814

This pretty saucer is painted in the attractive enamelled Doll's House pattern. The pattern consists of a blue enamel and iron-red house on an island, with a pair of large blue flowers, iron-red leaves and florets in the foreground. This 'cottagy' oriental style design was based on Chinese export wares. The porcelain and decoration resembles New Hall's pattern 1084, although several early nineteenth-century manufactories produced versions of this pattern, including Machin and Spode.

Condition: Good - no chips, cracks or restoration. There is sign of wear to the enamel decoration on the rim.

Dimensions: Diameter 5 5/8" (14.3cm)
